Description
It is hard to see the light
At the end of a tunnel
If you can not find the tunnel
For awhile I could not
Find the tunnel.
They also say you sometimes
Have to hit rock-bottom
Before you can start to
Rise back up.
...............................
I am bipolar left unchecked
Without proper medications
that means.............
I can experience manic
Episodes extreme highs
Or depression so low
There are no words.
.................................
Unfortunately medications
Are not perfect.
There are many negative
Side effects, some can
Be worse that the condition
Itself. That is what happened
To me.
..................................
I made this self portrait
After I was lucky enough to
Have my life changed and
Help given to me.
I was taught how to learn...
Thru the Mayo Clinic
Now I do not have to rely
On medication alone..
I can use skills..
.............................
It is still a hard road
I feel hopeful !!!! Yet,
Shackled with the weight
Of it all.
There is a fire in me that
Is strong and positive.
There is a fire that scares
me Inside too.
............................
In my own way, my hope is
To help others who may
Feel alone in there struggles
With mental illness .
I am here for you.
We have nothing to be
Ashamed about.
There Is hope. Starting with acceptance.
Of yourself.
